We started on eBay!
Magnum Opus Collection began as a humble venture on eBay, founded by two friends with a shared passion for electroplated sculptures. What started as a slow journey, fueled by creativity and determination, turned into a year of learning, growth, and connection with art enthusiasts.
2022
Ebay to Etsy
After a year on eBay, we expanded our business to Etsy, where we began gaining more traction and connecting with a wider audience. While progress was steady, balancing full-time work alongside Etsy fees, UK taxes, and marketing expenses meant that our venture remained a side hustle. Nevertheless, our passion for creating and sharing stunning electroplated sculptures kept us motivated to keep growing.
2023
Rebrand and Website
In 2023, we embarked on a rebranding journey and launched our first website, undertaking the entire process ourselves. Despite our dedication, we encountered numerous challenges and mistakes, leading to financial losses that year. The setbacks were significant enough that we contemplated closing the business. However, our unwavering passion for art and commitment to our vision motivated us to persevere and continue pursuing our dreams.
2024
Outside Help
Facing significant challenges, we enlisted the expertise of a marketing company to revitalise our business. They spearheaded a comprehensive rebrand, developed a new website, captured professional photographs of our sculptures, and crafted a strategic marketing plan alongside a robust business strategy. This collaboration propelled our venture onto the international stage. Within nine months, we established bases in Cheshire and Dubai, serving over 100 regular clients. Our success enabled us to leave our previous jobs, dedicating ourselves fully to Magnum Opus Collection. As we step into 2025, we eagerly anticipate the opportunities and growth the future holds.
